1000 gifts

My friend and her two daughters have started a journey to record 1000 gifts in 2013 - things they are thankful for.  The link to the idea/guidelines for this journey can be found here.  I like that the author has actually made a beautiful document that I can print off or save on my desktop and use as a guideline for what to write about each day!  Thinking of 1000 random things to be thankful for can seem a bit daunting!

I obviously have missed the start of this journey on January 1st and I don't want to say I'll do it every day, because my OCDness will push me to do it every single day and I've already committed in myself to take an instagram a day this year and even though I have all the time in the world right now, I have to remember how insane my life becomes once school gets going again! (great run-on sentence there. haha)  However, I really like the idea of pausing to think and record things to be thankful for and after Kevin's sermon this morning, with a reminder to have a thankful heart, I've decided that I'm going to follow the 'joy dare' as much as, and whenever, I can.... so here it goes for January 6:

One thing in your bag, your fridge, your heart

1. My bag: I cleaned out my wallet this morning and discovered pictures of Danae and Paige's 2nd ball.  They made me smile - especially Paige in her 'Queen of the Ball' sash

2. My fridge: I found some pre-mixed iced coffee and have been enjoying drinking it.

3. My heart: I am so thankful for my parents and their friendship. I just got off the phone with them.
