I am a planner. I love to plan. I am happiest when I have something to plan. It's a good thing except when I get too much in planning mode and find spontaneity hard! Kevin is good with spontaneous things like inviting someone over after church for lunch. Like he did today. My initial reaction is panic! If someone's coming over for lunch we should invite them a few days ahead so I can 'plan'! Haha... God knew I needed Kevin in my life. The spontaneous lunches and activities are often the most fun and relaxing (once I get over my initial panic!)
One of the benefits of planning, I find, is that you get to look forward to an event and also you don't miss out on it because you waited too long and all the tickets are gone, or the plans weren't made. One such example, that I am quite excited about, is that we are planning to go to Calgary for a few days at Christmas. I thought it would be fun to take in an NHL game. When I lived in Calgary I went to quite a few and they were great! So I checked the Calgary Flames' schedule on the internet and found a game on Dec. 27th against the Nashville Predators. Kevin and I talked about it and even better yet, his cousin, Scott Nichol, plays for the Predators, so we will get to not only go to an NHL game, we will get to see Scott play! I am pysched....we all are!
There are a couple more things we have in the planning stages that I am looking forward to. In February my mom and dad are taking me (just me :-) to Neuvo Vallarta with them and a few other retired couples. I am really looking forward to that (much to my family's chagrin-they all want to come). Then we are also planning to go to Ireland in July. Kevin has relatives there who will tour us around. That plan had to be made this far in advance because Kevin gets so many wedding requests and he has to know not to book any during that time.
So those are some of our plans....I love to have things to look forward to, especially with the winter blues just around the corner!!

How exciting to be going to see an NHL game. I've been to a few games, Oilers games, in Edmonton. They were fun. I'd love to see Scott play.
Dominican Repulic sounds great. I'm not looking forward to anything except the end of internship.
