Today we went for a three hour
boat cruise on the Kaipara River around the Helensville area. It was a wonderful, relaxing event but definitely not a highspeed thrilling jetboat ride! lol. It reminded us of a
train ride we took last year in Waihi. While the train was 'enjoyable', it was definitely not 'high adventure'! lol. However, today's boat ride was lovely - the weather was magnificent (I got a sunburn), the company was wonderful (thanks to Geoff, Amber & Alex for joining us), the scenery was beautiful (mangroves, ocean harbour, remnants of ancient forests, historic townsites, cattle & sheep lazily grazing along the river). A very nice way to spend a summer day.
