Danae bought her first car today.A 2000 Daihtsu Mira, 53000 km.
We took a wrong turn last week and ended up at the lights beside this cutest little car with a for sale sign in the window. Danae phoned them and found out all the details and a week later, it's all hers! (here she is hugging the lady she bought it from, who was really sad about selling it)
The cool thing is that she had been saving into mutual funds ever since she got her first job at TNI when she was 13. So with the growth of her funds and the current exchange rate, plus some money we gave her for grad, she was within $15 of the price! And it's such a great little car that it will easily last her for a long, long time!
But, yah, I'm getting old. My daughter has her own car. sigh.
