Sometimes Life Sucks....

Sometimes life is just plain hard. and it sucks. and it just makes you angry and sad and frustrated and full of questions and nothing seems right. full stop. (that's what the kiwis say instead of 'period'.)

You feel like your life is like the fuzz on a dandelion.....so very fragile.....ready to blow away at the slightest gust.....

This has been a rough week. The deaths of 6 high school students and their teacher from a local Christian school has sent this community reeling....this country, as a matter of fact.

The most amazing thing about the tragedies is that each and every one of those who died loved Jesus with all their hearts, lived their lives fully committed and devoted to following Jesus, and are 100% for sure dancing in Heaven with Jesus right now! What amazing comfort. What an amazing testimony to this nation who so desperately need a Saviour and a hope for their future. The words and actions of the parents and the school and the churches testify to the eternal hope that is only found in Jesus! The newspapers and television stations, the internet and radio airwaves are all proclaiming the gospel that is being lived out and spoken by those most closely associated with this heart-wrenching tragedy.

You read and hear of people who scoff at the Christians during this time, mocking their faith, mocking their words, mocking God. Oh, that they would stop and listen and contemplate what is really happening and what those parents' words and actions really mean. I think some people are too scared to stop and contemplate their own mortality. They don't want to think what it would mean to surrender their lives to God. It's not a scary thing.

It's incredibly liberating! To know that you have a Father who loves you dearly and cares for you so intensely. He catches each of our tears in a bottle. He numbers the hairs on our head. He loves us and knows us intimately. There is nothing to be afraid of and everything to be excited about! He loves me. Even me. full stop.

Life on earth sucks....but by God's grace and with God's strength and through the hope that we have in what Jesus did for us when He died on the cross and rose three days later, to forgive us of our sins, we will finish this earthly race well.

GOD IS GOOD and Heaven's just around the corner!!!

He is my refuge, my shelter, my strong fortress, my strength in times of trouble, my ROCK!

We've been praying for that school - praise God for His strength being given to handle a tragedy such as this. We'll keep praying...
