Wow is time ever flying by! I can't believe I didn't make one single blog post in all of February! And there was even an extra day this year to blog on, but I just didn't take advantage of it! lol. (I think most of it is due to the fact that I am an avid 'facebooker' now....but I still want to blog as I want to keep all of these posts for posterity sake!) Oh well..... so a few things from the past month.
Our most recent Canadian visitor was Dan from Vernon. He is here to attend Capernwray so he came to visit us for a few days before he started at school. Next to arrive are our dear friends, Shayn and Yvonne from Peachland. They touch down in NZ on my birthday, March 16 and we get to hang out with them for a week before they head back to Canada. It has been so absolutely wonderful to have the visitors that we've had come to see us here. It has definitely made this whole move much easier! Another blessing from God.

Kevin has been busy, busy. He is continuing his Masters course and is trying to decide between a thesis or a dissertation. He also spent a week teaching at Capernwray in Cambridge. He taught 13 sessions on the life of Elisha. We've also started up a weekly Alpha meeting through our church which is going well. Kevin also had his television debut, as a father in a Vodafone commercial! woot woot! We keep getting people telling us they've seen Kevin on tv! Kinda cool, that! At the end of February, John and Carolyne resigned from official paid leadership of our church. We had a great retirement service and celebration of our church being around for 20 years.

I've been busy, busy, busy too! One busy for work, one busy for being a wife and one busy for being a mom! lol. What a crazy season of life. We just drive and drive and drive (and put out money and more money and more money for all the things the girls are involved in). But that's okay cuz we wouldn't have it any other way! I'm working full-time during the school year in the school office and absolutely love it! The staff are amazing and my 'boss/co-conspirator' is fabulous to work with. I love going to work each day and am so thankful for the great job God provided for me! Last month I joined 17 people from our school staff and went on a 150km relay race around Lake Taupo. My race leg was 8km. It was really fun and a great way to get to know some of the other staff outside of school.

Paige, Paige, Paige. Well, she is definitely not letting the grass grow under her feet since moving here! She was on 4 soccer teams at one time for about 3 weeks. She played for 2 summer 7 on 7 mixed rec leagues that played once a week. Then she is on the school team which has started up since school began. She is also on a city rec team that is a couple levels down from the NZ national women's team level. She is so happy with all her sports! She is also in two PE classes in school. One is a regular PE class and one is a Sports Leadership Class which is actually a first year university class which she will get a certificate in Sports Leadership for at the end. She is also in the Peer Support Leadership Team which works with the Year 9s (like grade 8s) who have began at their school this year. Throughout all this she tries to get paid work to help support our trip back to Canada this year. She's a busy kid, but extremely happy, so we're thankful!

As busy as Paige is with sports, Danae is with work, youth church, artistic pursuits and her boyfriend! In this pic, she is doing a Year 13 Sculpture project. The natural sculpture in the front is her original and the one she is walking towards way out in the water is her secondary one. They were so cool. Her class spent the whole day at the beach creating. Amazing. She is also on our church's worship band and has joined Primal's worship band (that's the youth church she attends). She has been working at Starbucks for a few months now and loves it. So do I, cuz she brings home free coffee each week! :-) And of course, there's the boyfriend, which keeps her very busy and happy too! He's a great guy, and so we're pretty thankful for that!

And MacKenzie....well.... for as quiet and laid back as she was last year, observing and taking it all in during her first year at a new school, she has 'dove' right in this year. She attends a dance class Sunday nights, school softball team on Mondays and Wednesdays, school play (Fiddler on the Roof) Tuesdays and Thursdays. In her desire to get a job, she created her own ironing and dog walking business and has 5 faithful clients. And then this past week she totally scored and got a job at Muffin Break in a local mall. She is busy, happy, involved, settled.....and beautiful! She also has a full load of high school classes which she is easily mastering. What a kid!
We are so blessed with our three girls and so very thankful for them!
So that's our update. We're planning a trip back to Canada in June. P&D want to attend their friend's grad ceremonies and dry grad. Then go to Eagle Bay Camp to work for a month. Kenz will attend camp as a camper for one week and then hang out and catch up with all her friends. It will be nice to visit with everyone and see all the favorite places and eat all the foods we miss! Only a few months until we leave....It's going to be here before we know it!
God is good all the time.....all the time God is good!
