Wow! One year ago today we arrived here. What a lot has happened in the past year, or two years for that matter! I won't rehash it all here, but I'm thankful that I blog because that has been my journal of the wild adventure God has our family on. So today we celebrate, remember and look forward to what God has done, is doing and will continue to do!

I just have to share the devotion in my devotion book this morning. The book is 'The Word for Today" by RBG in NZ (just so I don't get in trouble for writing it out here!)
John 2:5 "Whatever He says to you, do it." (what an awesome verse!)
The first miracle Jesus worked was at a wedding. When sending out invitations these newlyweds had the good sense to send one to Jesus. Do you need a miracle today? Invite Jesus, listen carefully to what He tells you - and do it! Jesus told the servants to pour water into empty wine containers. It didn't make sense. But then neither does walking around the walls of Jericho seven times, or rubbing clay on a blind man's eyes. Yet the walls of Jericho came down and the blind man received his sight. That day at the wedding Jesus said in essence, "Give me what you've got and I'll give you back what you need!" And it still works that way. It's called the harvest law: "Whoever sows generously will also reap generously" (2Co 9:6)
Jesus also knows how to fill your empty nets and get you out of debt. Look at the disciples: "That night they caught nothing" (see Jh 21:3) God loves to start with nothing, for then there is no doubt about who has the power and who gets the credit. Peter knew a lot about fishing but Jesus knew a lot more - He knew where the fish were. Our Lord knows the right place, the right time and the right way. So do what He tells you. If you do you'll succeed in life. Peter caught so many fish that night that he had to give some away.
There it is, 'more than enough' and it's still the way God works. First He will bless you, then He will bless others through you. But remember the formula is always: "Whatever He says to you, do it."
-------------------------------
Just something I thought was pretty cool. I love that verse, "whatever He says to you, do it". It can be something as big as changing jobs or moving, or something as small as calling a friend when He brings them to mind or helping someone who needs your help. If God impresses it upon your heart to do something, then act, don't just sit there until the feeling goes away. You'll miss out on the blessing He has for you, and the blessing He has for the people that it will affect. Sometimes we think that the thing He wants us to do is too big or too scary or too expensive! That's where the true test of our faith comes. Let's hope we all pass that test and learn and grow from it.
Help us Lord, to do whatever you say, in our everyday lives and help us to be willing to listen to what you say for us to do!
