Saturday Danae, MacKenzie and I took Mom and Dad to the Auckland Museum. Paige was in drama rehearsal all day for her next Shakespeare play at school and Kevin was in meetings all day with the CMA of NZ Annual General Meeting. We had a fantastic day at the museum. What a great place. So much to see and such a beautiful building. Here is a picture of us with the performers of the Maori Cultural performance. The other picture is of us in front of the museum. The main floor of the museum is dedicated mainly to the Maori people, their heritage and culture. There was a gigantic war canoe that was carved out of one single tree!

Amazing. There were also some old buildings and some beautiful portraits painted of the elderly of the tribes with their fascinating facial tattoos. The second floor was mainly the flora and fauna of the area. Mom and Dad saw their first kiwi bird. lol. The top floor was dedicated to New Zealand's role in all of the wars. Very interesting.
Sunday all of the CMA NZ churches of the area met together for morning service. It was great to see all of the different churches and cultures represented! We may be a small denomination here, but the people love the Lord and each other!

This afternoon we went for a drive up One Tree Hill. What a beautiful park. The top of the hill where the monument is was incredibly WINDY!!!!! (Just like when we went up there with Bruce and Niki) Here's dad trying to keep from getting blown away. lol. This other picture is of one of the amazing trees in the park. We think it's a fig tree, but we couldn't find anyone to confirm that. We also believe this is where the visual ideas came from to make the Ents in Lord of the Rings.
