Happy Thanksgiving.....

This weekend Danae had to do some pictures for her school photography project. Her theme is flowers throughout a female's life. She started with some adorable pictures of Matt & Sharilyn's little 2 year old daughter giving flowers to her mommy, and worked her way through with some pics of MacKenzie plucking a daisy with 'he loves me he loves me not', then a few of Danae's friends dating and then marrying, then Kevin and I celebrating an anniversary, and finally a set of mom gardening, ending with a set of Dad placing flowers on a gravesite (note mom's presence in my picture! lol) A bit of a morbid ending, but her photo series was supposed to have 'soul'. What she has done so far looks fantastic so we are eager to see her finished project.
We shared our thanksgiving dinner with our neighbors, who happen to be from Calgary/Canmore, as well as our two working-holiday visa friends, who came to us via my cousin in Edmonton. We didn't have turkey, but we did have two chickens, and the rest was pretty much standard turkey dinner fare, except for the absence of a pumpkin pie. We had a great time together in our cosy little house! We actually ate outside cuz the weather was pretty agreeable.

Now holidays are done, and it's back to school/work for the final term and year end. Tomorrow is my day off, so I'm taking mom and dad on the ferry into the city to show them around downtown Auckland.

Cheryl, you should have a tripod so you'll be in the photos! :-)

Sounds like a very nice time. :) Has Danae's other art project even been marked yet? It will be interesting to see what she does with this photography project!

Danae's other project hasn't come back yet. They send them away somewhere....
We laid out her contact pics onto her board to choose sizes and shapes yesterday. It's going to look so good! She's a bit concerned because she has so many pics left to develop and then she has to 'dress up' her board before the final hand-in.
