well laid plans...

I am a planner. I love to plan. I am happiest when I have something to plan. It's a good thing except when I get too much in planning mode and find spontaneity hard! Kevin is good with spontaneous things like inviting someone over after church for lunch. Like he did today. My initial reaction is panic! If someone's coming over for lunch we should invite them a few days ahead so I can 'plan'! Haha... God knew I needed Kevin in my life. The spontaneous lunches and activities are often the most fun and relaxing (once I get over my initial panic!) One of the benefits of planning, I find, is that you get to look forward to an event and also you don't miss out on it because you waited too long and all the tickets are gone, or the plans weren't made. I discovered a very bizarre website yesterday. You can check it out here . It got me to thinking about many things: What leads someone to collect that much stuff? What do I feel the need to collect that I really don't need to? Where can I find that many Xerox boxes? How many valuable items does she have in that house that noone gets to enjoy? How did she ever afford all that stuff? I wonder where she lives? Could I make a career out of finding homes like that and sorting through their stuff for them? How would you even begin to sort through all of that? About a month ago an elderly, well known man in Kelowna went missing. He was an eccentric sort, who would dress up for parades and such. Well, posters were put up, news bulletins were issued. Where was this man? People had 'tried' to look in his apartment but couldn't get in because of all the clutter. my hubby is a saint

Good title, eh? This week Kevin should win an award for sainthood! Mom N. you would be proud of him! It can't be easy living in a house with 4 females. Between sitting at Chapters reading while we all spend time shopping in the mall, to having to endure chick flicks and America's Next Top Model, he does a great job being the only human male in the house (the male pets don't count). The last couple of days Kevin has once again proven that he is up to the female household challenge! This week has been an emotional one in our home for many reasons. Let's just say that each day, Kevin has had to console a different crying female. He does so with such incredible patience and compassion, you just wouldn't believe it! I am sure that by Sunday, he will be very ready for a testosterone filled hockey game with the guys followed by the weekly Sunday night men's shoot 'em up movie. Thanks Kevin!
