Paihia

Thursday we spent the morning in Paihia looking around before beginning the drive back home.

Mom and Dad enjoying the view of the Bay of Islands.

On the way home we stopped at a Kauri Clock factory. Very amazing! Over 3500 clocks in the store made of Kauri wood. Dad really enjoyed the factory, as he has been a woodwork shop teacher for many years. The Kauri wood that is used is just the roots that are found in the swamps.

We drove through beautiful scenery on our way home. It just seemed to take us a looonggg time because we want to go past Goat Island Marine Reserve as we were told how awesome it was. There wasn't much there to see unless you had snorkels then you could see all kinds of unique marine life. So we carried on home instead!

We had a fantastic few days seeing places that were new to all of us.

It's great to see those smiling faces! We're smiling just thinking of all of you having fun together! :D :D Pretty soon you'll have seen a larger portion of NZ than I've seen of Canada! (Maybe you already have... :})
