A massive tree in the Kauri forest. These trees are hundreds of years old. They uncover more in the swamps that have been carbon-dated around 45,000 years old! Amazing!

At the Kauri store/museum. One of the trees that was unearthed was cut in thirds. The middle third was positioned on the property and the building built around it. Then a staircase was carved into the middle of the tree. Look at the floor to see the diameter of the tree.

We arrived at the tip of New Zealand and mailed some postcards from the farthest north mail drop! Apparently they stamp them as such. cool. lol. The lighthouse is to the left of us in this group photo.
Where the Tasman Sea (Danae is pointing at it) and the Pacific Ocean (Paige is pointing at it) meet. Apparently the tide comes in half an hour apart for the two bodies of water and sometimes there is a visible difference in the heights.

Our family by the light house. There is a mileage sign to some major cities in the world just behind us. Someone broke off the Vancouver and the Los Angeles markers!
