The cats were kept in the house for the first few months to get used to their new home.
"About three months ago they went outside. They made it obvious that that is not where they wanted to be. Our dogs just wanted to be friends but somewhere they must have had a lousy experience with a big dog. Especially Yoda. One of the dogs, who just love running realized if it chased Sabre, he would run....wow what a wonderful game. Except Sabre went up a tree and for two days refused to come down. It was a smaller tree so Andy decided that he would chop it down. Sabre survived and within 10 hours he went up another tree. This was a big tree and he just kept going higher and higher. Another five days went by and Andy just could not stand the whinning so on a Sunday morning he and Nick went out with the chain saw and the tree came tumbling down. The cat took off. I thought for sure that I would never see him again. But........a day latter he showed up at his 'outside' home. Looked a little strange but I have never seen him up a tree since.
Now for Yoda. I probably should not tell you this story but the ending is wonderful and Yoda is living proof that cats do have nine lives. I had to go to town one morning and the dogs were going nuts around the Jeep. I couldn't see the cats anywhere so I started up the engine but the dogs were still going nuts. Oh well, I had to get to Kelowna but on the way there I was wondering what if.....so I stopped at the Home Hardware store where Andy works and asked him to check under the hood. Well there was poor Yoda hanging on for dear life to the wheel well. I came down our very bumpy driveway, then into Westbank at 100 kmph stopped at a couple lights. It took him a few days to settle down. But all is well and they love the outside. They have even become real hunters. Saw Yoda with a chipmunk the other day. They love to mouse and have even seen them with birds. They have slowly but surely gotten used to the dogs . Yoda is a bit more leary of the dogs but Sabre could care less. Those cats have bought us hours of entertainment. We just love them. There was a time that Andy said the cats would never come in the house again but it wasn't too long til he said that they would be back in for the winter.
It is cute.....but they love to come for a walk with us through the forest, even is the dogs are with us. To see all the four animals is so amazing. They sort of watch each other but make sure that they are not too far from us either."

Great stories, eh?! We are very thankful that our cats are in such a good, loving home!
