soccer sights & sorrows

Paige had her first soccer game of the season tonight.
This pic shows where they played.
Pretty nice background, eh?
Paige is #14
So Paige was subbed off for quite a bit of the time that I was there to watch. Just as I was about to leave to take my babysittee back home, she got put on to play. So I wanted to get a picture of her playing. So I took this picture, moved the camera away from my face only to see
Paige laying on the ground crying in severe pain! All four girls were going for the ball (it's up in the air) and some sort of collision happened. Paige said it felt like a girl was holding onto her arm as she fell and didn't let go.
Long and short of it....she has a small break in her left wrist. She has a temporary cast for one week and then they reevaluate it to see if it warrants a full cast which she would have for 3 weeks. She's mostly upset because this means that she'll have a cast on during the ball. As long as she gets one to match her dress! :-)

Ouch. Hope it heals up quickly

I tried to leave a comment on a previous blog but it wouldn't let me. =( So I'll leave it here.
You're doing a great job of wisely raising your girls as evidenced by the "V" story.
Too bad about the soccer injury. At least her face didn't look like Steve Nash's a couple of nights ago! Nasty!!
Looking forward to sharing some "power of one" stories with you when we come to see you!!! =)

It's tough enough trying to figure out a new place and navigate through all the changes without having broken bones to contend with.

What?! No pictures of the cast?! I'm glad to hear that Paige still enjoys the sport - injuries take some time to get past. :)

Oh poor Paiger. Hope it is just a greenstick fracture and will heal quickly.

Hi--I wish her a speedy recovery, so she can get back out and play some more!

she wasn't too happy about the cast so the picture isn't too great. you'll see it when she models her ball gown on Saturday!
