makes no sense (cents)

As we slowly get things figured out around here, we understand a little more about the cost of living every day. For example. We got our phone bill, which I always go over with a fine tooth comb to see what all the charges are. I noticed that we are charged to CALL mobile phones from our LAND line!?!?!?!? huh??!! So I called Telecom and asked for some clarification of the charges and yup, you pay to phone a cell phone from a land line!

There are 2 main companies here and they work in direct opposition with each other. So since our landline is with Telecom, then whenever we call a Telecom mobile we pay 49 cents/minute. If we call a Vodofone mobile it costs us 55 cents/minute! To call a cell phone!!! I can call Canada for 49 cents/minute. How silly is that!!!! Their whole billing system makes no sense! The phone companies here must be raking in the money!!!!!

I'm telling ya, Canadians don't know how good they have it with cell phone plans. No wonder everyone here just uses their cell phones for texting! (that's way cheaper) Which, by the way, our kids can text their friends in Canada for 30 cents/text and their Canadian friends can text them for free!

Go figure.

Our most expensive calls are calls from a landline to a cell or the other way around
