This past weekend we met with all the C&MA NZ pastors and their wives and church leadership at a conference centre on Long Beach (this is a pic for the horrible view we had to suffer through during out meetings!). The speaker was Roger Lang, the president of APAC (the CMA Asian Pacific district). He was a great speaker. It was also good to hear him tell us about his memories of Uncle Neill. He had many stories to tell of times he'd spent with Uncle Neill.
The things Roger spoke about were such an affirmation to me of our call to NZ. Sometimes it has felt like we are going through the motions. We knew we were called here, we sold everything, packed up everything else, flew over here, set up house all over again, and have begun to integrate ourselves into our new community and church, knowing that this is what God has for us, but not always feeling it. If that makes sense. This weekend, it was as if a light switch was turned on and God reaffirmed His call for us to be here. It was also as if God spoke to me personally letting me know that our call here is much bigger than just the Nichol's moving to NZ. I am very excited about the possibilities, the future, the bigger picture, that God is putting in place. There are many exciting things happening in this region that we are meant to be a part of and I can't wait for God to reveal them to us in His timing!
As Danae said today, 'how do we know that Dad is the reason God called us here'. Maybe it's one of the girls or me who God has something special and unique prepared for. I know that He has works prepared for each of us in the situations we find ourselves in. We are called here to be blessed and to be a blessing to others.
