I've had a request to post a few pics of our immediate surroundings. The first pic is of Pigeon Mountain looking up at it. MacKenzie just doesn't understand how they can call it a mountain when you can climb to the top of it in under 5 minutes! Apparently it was an old volcano that was being mined for it's lava rock. When they came upon some old tribal burial grounds or something like that, they stopped the mining.....or that's the story that Kevin has heard from somewhere....

Anyway, the second pic is of the view from the top of the mountain looking at our house. (which of course, I couldn't possibly begin to tell you which one it is!) However, I can tell you that the field in the middle of the pic is the kids' school yard. To the left of the school yard and just behind it, is where we buy our groceries. There are 2 grocery stores there. Our house is on the right side of the pic kind of just to the right of the school yard. See our laundry hanging on the lines? haha

These two pics are of my little car! ;-) Isn't it cute?!?! I love it and I can drive it on these narrow roads without too much worry! The girls are also using it to learn to drive. Anyway, the pics are also of the Rotary walkway that extends for a very, very long way along the Tamaki River (ocean inlet). Kevin and I have both adopted this walkway as our favorite place for our daily walks. The tide is out, thus the long distance until the water, where there are many, many sailboats moored. We can walk to this spot in about 20 minutes from our house.
