Sunday the 25th was our official commissioning service. We were also honored with a Powhiri (pronounced po - furry), the traditional Maori welcoming ceremony. Go HERE to MyMSNSpace to see some pics.
Thursday I was an extra in a movie based on a local true Kiwi story. I was a bar patron. We filmed a 60 second scene for 4 hours. It was actually really enjoyable! And I got to meet a whole group of new people and see another part of the city. We have also been invited to be audience members for the filming of NZ's Deal or No Deal. We're pretty excited about that! It's going to be fun! (they don't pay the audience extras though). I have also been babysitting a couple of hours each day this week for a 2 and 6 year old. Fun, but glad my kids aren't that age anymore!
Paige is Elvis in the school production, Frogs, this week. She even sings a solo and wears Elvis' white jumper that he wore in his later years. The only problem they're having is trying to get her to look fat. I got to hear her sing during rehearsal and she sounded fantastic!
Danae begins teaching English to 2 Korean children this week, on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Chelsey was doing this but has passed it on to Danae, who is quite excited about the adventure! (and making money)
That's it. Please write, send pictures, forward stupid jokes, let us know how life in Canada is going. We'd love to hear anything from anybody!!!! (yes, this is a shameless plea for emails)
