Trip to Orewa with Mordaunts

Today we went out to visit Matt and Sharilyn Mordaunt. They moved here in July from Kelowna to take on the leadership of another Alliance Church on the north shore. After another fun-filled trip making our way to their home trying to follow the map and bizarre road systems, we made it! Our children were happy about that. They figure Kevin and I should go on the amazing race, since we get into such fun discussions about following the map! Sure made me appreciate how well my mom and dad must do making their way through the US to Disneyland and the other places they have driven. I should have taken some map reading lessons from them... anyway....

So we had a wonderful visit with Matt & Sharilyn and their kids. They took us up the coast to a little town called Orewa. The beach was magnificent and the town was quaint. Looked a bit like the shoreline in Penticton. We stopped for some amazing fish and chips in the town.

The Mordaunts have the same van as we do! Must be a Canadian thing....

This is Snow Planet where Kiwis come to ski. Gotta admit it was pretty hilarious! Apparently it costs $100/day/person. Someday we will have to stop and have a peek inside!

We drove back home through downtown Auckland across Harbour Bridge. What a beautiful (and uneventful map following) trip that was! :-) sorry, the pic won't load...you'll have to check my msn space to see the rest....

Do I need to know a secret handshake to view your other photos? When I click on the link, it says, "Access denied."

Anyway, I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your new home and having fun exploring. It sounds like a grand adventure!

I think you have to have an msn/ hotmail username and password which you enter to access people's msn spaces. See if that works....
