Part 2

So we played in the waves....

Toured the 'loop' and saw a million sheep and hundreds of incredible bays. Seemed like every corner we turned we saw another beautiful bay! This one was like a yacht campground. Unbelievable!
We also stopped by the Stony Batters, which are WWII battlements. It looked like an interesting hike, but we were pretty hot from having done the Sculpture walk and then playing at the ocean and then driving in a hot vehicle, so we decided to save that adventure for when Bruce and Niki come visit! There are a lot of hiking trails on this island to explore.

We also had delicious fish and chips. It looks like I'm hugging them in this pic...hahaha....they weigh the fresh fish that you order and then cook it to your specifications! The only disappointing this is that you have to pay for any and all tartar sauce and ketchup you need. And they serve this ketchup that doesn't really taste like Heinz...rather a let down, I must say!

And we stopped at one more beach before heading back to the ferry for the ride home. MacKenzie loves to walk along the beach.

Just about home after a wonderful day on the island. A beautiful evening view of Auckland's city centre as we pull into Half Moon Bay harbor.
