I figure that's a happier title than, "Last soccer game in Kelowna". Coach Wayne gave Paige a little farewell speech during which half the kids and parents were crying! This soccer team has been such an amazing experience for Paige and our whole family! We've all enjoyed going to Paige's games, watching Kevin coach, cheering Paige and her teammates on. It's been wonderful. We know, however, that Paige will continue playing once we've moved and we will continue to enjoy going to her games and cheering her on!
So New Zealand here we come!
Their team came in 4th place. Bummer. But that's just how it goes sometimes.
The only two games they lost this season were this one and one other.

They lost after 2 x 40 minute halves, overtime 2 x 15 minute halves and finally best of 5 shootout. This exact same scenario happened last year, but we won last year. This year the other team won. It has been a long 6 year rivalry back and forth between Lake Country and Westbank.
