waiting....

sitting in airports, waiting all day....yup that's saturday!

started waiting at 8:30a.m. still waiting at 8:30p.m. will be waiting till 9:30p.m.

did you know that 1 hour of internet time in the vancouver airport costs $5 cdn???? and 15 minutes in a mexican hotel costs $3usd?

did you know that air canada doesn't change you ticket to give you an earlier flight if you are here on time, unless you want to pay $150/ticket?!?!?! thus we are still waiting......really sad if your original ticket only cost $120 and your travel agent was positive that you could change your flight if you arrived early....

did you know that the mexican airport changes your gate number every 15 minutes just to keep your 3 hour wait interesting and to move the traffic flow because their airport is soooooooooo small. (and they want us north americans to feel like we are doing something productive with our loooooonnnnngggg wait.)

did you know that if you are flying to vancouver the airport in vallarta tags your bags for calgary, but if you are alert you can retrace your steps and get your bags routed to their proper destination?!?!? (yay bruce!)

did you know it costs $7cdn for each 1kg overweight and that if you put all your bags together you will undoubtedly be overweight and all the vanilla you bought your friends will now cost you double or triple or even quadruple! next time you each get one vanilla bean.

did you know that the liquor and vanilla in a mexican walmart is way cheaper than the street vendors but that you can console yourself by saying that at least you bought your souvenirs the tourist way by bartering and not from walmart and the money will go to help a small family with adorable children who play in the dust in the marketplace and sleep under the tables looking adorable (photo to follow) rather than some greedy international faceless mr. walmart!

did you know you can't actually enter the domestic departure gates to make your way to the international departure gates where there is a roots store that had a really good sale on last saturday morning at 4:30a.m. and therefore i was unable to buy a really cool gift for our irish relatives even though the friendly security guard said we could get access that way.....maybe that's why he was snickering with his buddies after we left?!?!?!?!

did you know that once a blog is over 1000 words long, people quit reading it, but it sure helps kill 4 hours in an airport and bruce is very funny, especially when you're tired and just want to get home!

did you know that if you give me a 1gb memory card for christmas i can take 365 pictures in 7 days and still have room....don't worry i won't post them all...hahaha....
