Friday night was the Edward Jones Christmas party for all the area reps and administrators and their significant others. This year we went to a pool hall. The food was amazing! The pool was fun for those who played. Kevin totally beat Shayn. He sunk the 8 ball twice from the break and smoked Shayn in a couple other games too. Twas fun for Kevin, probably not as fun for Shayn! :-) The only down-side of the evening was the cigarette smoke. ugh. We are not used to that anymore, as all restaurants here don't allow smoking. The other fun thing we did was a Chinese gift exchange. Out of 35 gifts there, guess what Kevin chose from the pile? A bible and a book entitled, The Case for Christmas. It was very funny! I came home with a nice bath set.
Saturday morning was our annual family life group Christmas brunch at our house. We have such a wonderful life group and we all look forward each year to our Christmas brunch.
We also do a gift exchange, but you have to bring things from home that you don't want anymore. It is always a great time! Kevin ended up with an old fax machine this time. I managed to end up with some nice dishcloths and picture frames. The kids got an assortment of strange and wonderful things.
In the afternoon Paige and Kenz went for their play practice. The big production is next weekend. The play is Jack and the Multi-Colored Beanstalk. Paige is the bad guy and Kenz is her sidekick. I am looking forward to seeing them in action.
Danae and I went to finish her Christmas shopping. She has picked out some awesome gifts for her friends and family. It sure helps that she has a job. Paige needs to get on the job hunt after Christmas. Her bank account is virtually depleted. If only she could figure out a way to make money at 15 playing sports, she'd be laughing!
Sunday morning is the Firehall's family Christmas pancake breakfast, followed by church, where Danae is playing with Blair's worship team this week. In the evening our church is hosting another dinner for the down and out in our town.
So that will be the end of another busy weekend. I figure we have had over 100 people through our house this week. No wonder I'm tired!
