easily fascinated

This is Paige's newest term. She thinks it sounds better than the alternative. Are you easily fascinated? Do you find yourself on the way to do something, only to be 'fascinated' by something else and completely forget your initial task? Well, this happens alot around here.

When Paige was younger and I sent her to do or get something, she would repeat it out loud to herself all the way there. It was quite cute. I haven't heard her talking to herself for awhile, but she does manage most of the time to stay on task. However, when she doesn't, she claims that she is "easily fascinated". She thinks it better than admitting she is easily distracted! Kevin likes the term too, as he has taught her everything he knows in that area of life! :-)

Christmas is creeping up on us. MacKenzie is counting down the days until school is out and we head up to northern Alberta for holidays. This morning she wrote out all the relatives' names for her and her sisters to choose who to buy gifts for. This has been a yearly tradition for us since they were very young. The aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents all get thrown in a hat and they choose a few names each and hit the dollar store for their big shopping extravaganza. We told the kids we'd give them a bit of extra money for gifts this year, and MacKenzie cheerfully exclaimed, "Now I can go shopping at Zeller's instead of the Dollar Store!" So easy to please! Gotta love it!
