busy week ahead

I am not sure what I was thinking 13+ years ago. Probably wasn't! I just wanted to have our children born close together. Well, they are. 2 years apart to the day. On September 11, 1990 at 5:25pm and 5:26pm I gave birth to twin girls and 2 years later, same day, 12:25pm, I gave birth to our third daughter. The first few years were insane. I took lots of photos to remember their baby/toddler years. Advise from another mother I met who had a similar family makeup. Now it is much easier and the three girls are all best friends (although they would never actually admit that at this stage in life). The part I didn't take into consideration was the timing of having 3 birthdays in the FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL! Ugh! It makes for a very busy, expensive time of year. So this week, they all start school on Tuesday and then on the weekend the parties start. Friday night MacKenzie is having 3 friends over after school for a sleepover. She is a planner like her mother. She has made lists and phone calls and has everything well planned out! They are going to make pizza, then we are going to go bowling in Kelowna, and then come home for cake and gifts, and then watch a movie, and go to sleep (maybe) and then have bacon, eggs and hashbrowns for breakfast. Her friends will leave at 10am, as we have to get Paige out to a soccer game in Lake Country for 11:30. Then we will hang out in Kelowna until 7pm at which time we will take in a Rockets exhibition game with Bruce and Niki and a couple of our kids' friends. Sunday after church I will make homemade lasagna and oreo cake, and then at 4pm Danae and Paige will have 6 or 7 of their mutual friends over for a party until 9. They want to go for a group ride on the big firetruck! :-) and hang out. Easy planning. Whew, then I am done for another year....although I was thinking just this morning that after this birthday there may be only 2 more when Paige and Danae are actually home (if they go away for schooling after high school) wow...so I will enjoy the busy-ness and suck up the expense and have fun with our kids! Bring it on!

Just a little side note that people think is pretty 'Ripley's Believe it or Not' ish.... when the terrorist attacks occurred on 911, MacKenzie turned 9 and the Paige & Danae turned 11.....Weird, eh?

I remember when Kenz was due and they wanted to bring her on the 10th but we had a big party planned for P&D so you picked the next day without really thnking about all the kids being born on the same day. I was there for 3 weeks I think...one week before the birth and 2 weeks after. Your Dad came and helped do the harvest here so I could get away. Gifts will be in the mail tomorrow.

I've never enjoyed planning birthday parties----thus, the reason I am going to teach high school instead of elementary :)) I found when I was teaching in grades 6,7,and 8 I had so much cutting and pasting to do...and food related things...seemed like a lot of "birthday-like" things to do.

I know what I was thinking all those years ago! Any way on a other note, I stumbled across a home video some time ago. It is me, after getting home from D & P's birth. All I did was look in the camera, moan just a little and say, wow am I exhuasted but boy am I happy! Thanks for the semi-memories babe. LETS PARTY!

yes, very weird! wow, I can't imagine all 3 kids having the same birthday. I knew you had 3 kids, all with the same birthday, but I didn't realize you had twins. I did not know how you got them all born on the same date, but now it makes more sense. sort of. :)
