a pleasant surprise

I was clicking on the 'next blog' button today, killing time, reading about other people's lives....and stumbled upon a group of blogs that belong to some 15-18 year olds somewhere in Colorado. What a blessing they were to me! Their depth of spiritual maturity and bonds of friendship were encouraging! Sometimes I get discouraged with the troubles I see and hear youth experiencing and so it was awesome to come across some kids out there that are really working at living their lives for Jesus. Serving in the church. Sharing their faith with each other and those around them. Working at living pure lives. Supporting, challenging and encouraging each other. It gives me hope for my own children. We pray that they make good choices and grow in their love for Jesus, but sometimes you look around with a bit of despair at what you see out there! I am so happy that Danae and Paige get to spend a month at camp. It is such an awesome environment for spiritual and personal growth. The friends they have make at camp are excellent, too! Kenz will be spending one week as a camper, which is great for her too! Let's all keep on praying for all the kids!

What is the name of the camp? and how is it they can go for a whole month? Are they counsellors or something?

www.eaglebaycamp.com They are going as LIT1..leaders in training 1. (as in first year....next year they can go as LIT2, and then go as counsellors). Yup, we had to pay $525/kid. They fundraised their butts off and we also had some very kind and generous donations from family members! They are extremely excited to go! It's going to be weird to have a whole month without their cheerful selves around here!

Is Eagle Bay camp close to Calgary then?

'close' is a relative term.....Eagle Bay is on the Shuswap near Salmon Arm.

I think there are more good kids than bad, but the bad ones get all the attention. Yes pray on!
