I was just checking the Okanagan news website, www.castanet.net and there on the opening page, was our friends' house burning to the ground! Now this is doubly sad. Sad that the home of people we know has burned to the ground and sad because Kevin is on the fire department and EVERY time there is a housefire, he misses it. He is at the concert with Danae, Zach and Zach's friend right now, but when he gets back, he will be very disappointed that he missed yet another house fire while we were away on vacation. Not, of course, that we are glad anyone's house has burned down, but very sad because that is what all their training is for, and he inevitably misses the big house fires!
