a sad, funny story

This is an account of my latest encounter with Peachland's homeless. Yesterday a newcomer arrived on Beach Avenue. He spent a lot of time talking to himself on the bench in front of my office. He also was quite intrigued by the Rates at a Glance that we have in a plastic holder in front of our office. He kept taking one and putting it back. Finally he took one and went and sat on the bench to read it. I happen to leave the office, locking the door, to put some things in my van, which was parked about 20 feet from where he was. He was reading the rates out loud including our rep's name, address and phone number. Then he said, "Brian can help me. He'll know what to do." He then walked to our office door and tried to get in and was looking in the windows. Well, you know me, I was a little freaked out by this point from watching him from my van, so I just walked up the street trying to find a friend to come hang out in my office with me. I was alone in my office all day, as Brian was away. And just on Friday, a different homeless guy wandered in when I was also alone, and wanted a bag and some candy. So I locked the door after he left too. Anyway, Kevin showed up, so he came in my office to hang out with me for a while until this new homeless guy left. But, before he wandered off down the street, he popped his head into our office and said, "You are a very good author!" and left. It was quite humorous because he was referring to the sheet with the rates written on it.
Very strange behaviour these street people exhibit. Kevin also watched him walk in front of my office throwing his lunch bag up in the air and yelling "football".
Please pray for these people and me too, as sometimes I am alone in here for hours at a time and it can be a little nerve-wracking.
