the relay

Today is the Nichol relay race! Passing kids off and carrying on. Kevin and MacKenzie and her friend, Taylor, left last night at 6:30pm for Salmon Arm for Kenz's ball tournament. They are staying at my cousin, Karen's place just outside of Salmon Arm. They play today at 10am, 2pm and 6pm and tomorrow at 8am. I am taking Paige and Danae to Paige's soccer game at noon. Danae's coming home after the game with another family who are playing at the same field at the same time, so that she can spend the afternoon and evening studying. Paige is being passed off to a teammate's family to go the soccer team's summer backyard pool party at one of the homes. (although it is truly a miserable weather day, I am sure they will still have a lot of fun!) Then they will bring her home and she will spend the evening studying. After Paige's soccer game I will head out to Salmon Arm to make it to the 6pm ball game, after coaching that game Kevin will return to Peachland by about 10:30pm so that he is home to preach tomorrow. Through a series of unfortunate events, I will by this point have inherited an extra 3 ball players whose ride and accomodations fell through at 5:30pm Friday, and take myself and the 5 girls to a Salmon Arm hotel (thankfully paid for by one of the orphaned player's parents) and hopefully get some sleep before having to be at the ball diamond at 7:30am. Hope they have in-room coffee! Following the game, we wait to see how the points add up to know whether or not we stay for the playoffs. If not, we should be home just after noon, in time to go watch Kevin's Fire Department team in their rec league playoffs. What a busy (although somewhat springtime-typical) weekend! Only one more of these next week for Paige's big soccer tournament in Winfield and then it's SUMMER VACATION!!!!!!
