lunch time

I just came back from helping with the hot lunch program at our daughters' school. Absolutely, insanely crazy! Especially since my other adult helper hasn't shown up for 3 weeks, but that's another topic! The few students who help out have done a great job and we have managed to pull it off with just one adult, me.
The thing I like the most happens after all the pizza is sold, the kids have stopped pushing and shoving, the line up is gone, the money is counted and the mess is cleaned up. Usually my daughters and their friends come back and hang out around the servery. Often I buy them each an ice cream sandwich or give them some gum. But most of all they just hang around and chat. I love it!
