If you look at the photo below and put your cursor just to the left of Kevin's foot and move it directly up you will point to the exact spot where the lightning hit on August 16, 2003 and started the Okanagan Mountain Park fire which destroyed thousands of acres of forest and 238 homes. Then look at my profile photo which is the view from my office desk. All the mountain you see on the other side of the lake was on fire. It was unbelievable. I was at work on the Friday of the worst of the firestorm and the whole valley was engulfed in smoke. Ash was blowing around and I could see flames on the mountain just across the 2 km expanse of lake. The kids were at home alone and Kevin was out there somewhere fighting the fire. It was the eeriest feeling. Then the local fire truck came roaring up to the Fish and Chippie attached to my office, because she had a grease fire. Well, I lost it! I told my boss that I needed to go home and be with my kids. It was a very bizarre time to live in the Okanagan......just a little story I thought y'all might find interesting!

That is an interesting bit of trivia.
I was just reading a blog this morning about photoblogging and people who express themselves through their photos. I love photography!
