Well, since I didn't send out any Christmas letters this year, I thought I'd add a post to our blog so that you be updated on the Nichol clan!
Where to start??
2004 was a great year for our family. Paige and Danae are now in grade 9 and MacKenzie is in grade 7. They all attend the same great school, Glenrose Middle School, in Westbank.
Paige has been on the field hockey team, basketball team, track team and has participated in a few school plays. When she is not busy at school, she plays soccer (and won the trophy for the most inspirational player), helps out with the kids at our church, does a paper route, plays the drums, reads, wants to become the next 'Jack Bauer' (from 24), and loves mysteries.
Danae has been in a few school plays, made principal's list (the good list) for every report card in 2004, played softball, lost her two front teeth to a softball (which didn't feel so 'soft' at the time), worked at Eagle Bay camp for 2 weeks this summer (which she LOVED), plays guitar, loves to read, and got her first 'real' job, working at a call centre here in Peachland.
MacKenzie has made the transition from elementary to middle school, without a hitch. Before leaving grade 6, she played the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz for her elementary school. She also played ball and attended camp. She will be starting her babysitting course this month and in March she is going to start taking scuba diving lessons, which she is VERY excited about!
As far as Kevin and Cheryl, they have spent the year driving the girls to all of the above and being their cheerleaders! We totally love hanging out with our kids and appreciate the time we can spend with them, whether it be driving, or cheering, or helping them learn their lines for the next play. Time goes so fast! It is hard to believe that our newborn twins will be going to high school this year. We 'remember' high school. It doesn't seem that far away!
Other than that, Kevin has remained busy with the church and with the fire department. He has been officially named the chaplain of the Peachland Fire and Rescue. He helped coach Paige's soccer team and had a great time doing that! This year, he and Danae will probably coach MacKenzie's ball team.
Cheryl continues to work at Edward Jones (an investment company) and does various things with the church. Most of all she manages everyone's schedules!
That's about it. If you look at the pictures below you will see many of the events that I have written about. You can even comment on them, if you like! Blogging is fun! :-)
Come back to this website occasionally for updates on our family's lives!
Take care
Love-Kevin, Cheryl, Paige, Danae and MacKenzie
