Wow, we just really can't believe we live here. It is so amazingly beautiful! Just when we think we've found one beautiful location we come upon another!
We are spending these couple of weeks since we've got our house set up and before school and work begin, exploring our new home. This Saturday we took a 40 minute ferry ride to Waiheke Island. The ferry leaves Half Moon Bay which is about a 2 minute drive from our house...pretty convenient!

I've added maps of the ferry route and then a map of the island. The left hand side is where 95% of the people live. The right hand side is where 95% of the sheep live!

After a relaxing ferry ride, we arrived on Waiheke Island. We drove through the very quaint streets of Oneroa to the far tip where we enjoyed the Sculptures on the Gulf exhibition. A 1 hour walk led us along the coastline where we had a magnificent view of the ocean, islands, and some great artwork.

After the sculpture walk we drove through Palm Beach to Onetangi where we had a picnic lunch on the beach and had fun playing in the ocean. The water on this side of the island was a spectacular shade of blue. We had a lot of fun here!
(I will write more later...gotta go make supper ..... coming up - pics in the ocean, a tour of the island, real fish and chips, another beach, the ferry ride home.....and then from Sunday, the church's Indian service complete with beautiful sarais and Indian clothing....Paige will model, and our inaugral barbeque with Jason & Chelsey!)
